Clearwire ie terrible!, I just got off the phone with someone at Clearwire, Kisha, the most rude and condecnding person I’ve spoken to in a long time.

I was just informed they had turned down my dispute of charges including the early termination fee.

It didn’t matter to Kisha that I was told by the salesperson that I wouldn’t notice any difference in my intrnet service if I switched from high speed cable to Clearwire. I’m a photojournalist and I need to upload high resolution photos several times a day. My uploads were averaging aroung 6k to 12k …. I get 112k using my cell phone as a modem!. A file that would normally take me less than an hour with cable would take days with clearwire. Yeah right no difference. I would be out of business!

Not only does this company have a bad service but their business practices are devieving and dishonest too. The reason they make you sign those long contracts is because it is the only way they can keep customers

I agree.Clearwire is a terrible isp. i have been with clearwire now for 1 year and 7months and there has not been 1 day that i was satisfied with the connection.The only thing that kept me from getting a new isp is my 2 year contract with clearwire.

2 weeks ago my clearwire modem crashed probably because of a power outage. i called the company they said i would have a new modem delivered to me by the end of the next day and all i had to do was put the old modem in the box and send it back.After 4 days i called them again and asked why my modem has not came in.The answer was "Im Sorry we did not send out your modem yet"and after another 2 days i finally got the modem. The promised over night delievery took nearly a week. The funny thing is, im confident that if i didnt call it would of never came and they would of charged me the 200$ fee for not sending the old modem back in the new box withing the 2 week period they give us.Customer Satisfaction?

also if you wanna talk about speed? clearwire homepage says up to 1.5mps. Most i ever had was 98kbps dl on a good day. big difference

Dial up>Clearwire and thats the truth

I just signed up for Clearwire but did not go with with the 2 year contract. I paid the $50 activation fee and modem at full price at $100. Was told that the service was guaranteed 1.5Mbps/256Kbps and I was satisfied with that. I'm sick and tired of over priced Comcast. Would get Qwest if I could but my landline distance is 21,500 feet so can get Qwest broadband. So my only other option was to go with Clearwire.

Hello_everyon1

@comcast.net

I am going to end my Comcast in a week or so. I am looking at Clearwire but have seen quite some negative comments. You said you didn't go with the 2 year contract. But did you have to sign a 1 year contract or what? Can you walk away any time without paying early termination fee? What are the downlink and uplink speed? Are you happy with the speed? How much do you pay monthly now? Many thanks.

  Clearwire offers month-to-month plans.

No commitment, but you have to pay full price for 'modem' and service activation costs.

I got the clearwire service because it is pretty much the only thing available here and ill tell you what... its worse than dial up the speed they tell you is nowhere near what it actually is, just did a speedtest and dl was 0.08 (that decimal and zero is there its not a typo) »www.speedtest.net/result/465286995.png
its true that the only way clearwire can keep business is contracts... If my modem (which has 5 bars) could feel pain it would hate me as much as i hate it
