| Although you may find a decent enough 3d party battery, the odds are against it. I like saving money as much as anyone, but many/most 3d party battereis are at best inferior, and all too often do not work well at all in a given notebook. There is more to a battery than the cells and mah ratings...you'll pay a bit more for an oem battery, but you almost never will go wrong with that decision. A "killer" deal, $79 battery becomes a "killer-bad" deal if it is short-lived, or even worse yet, damages your computer! -- Deeds, not words |

| reply to Mont For the technologically intrepid, there is the option of using the original battery case and charging circuit with some new cells..

Depending on your job situation, it might be a better use of your time to just buy an OEM pack and forget that tutorial, but for the tinkerer looking for experience.....
It kind of reminds me of a techie that makes >$30/hr making their own patch cords instead of buying them for a buck online but at least it keeps you sharp. |

I never used them but, if you do tell us how it went » www.batteryrefill.com/ I dunno...there is more to a battery than just the cells, there is circuitry that may last longer, but is still prone to wear/shorting over time. $110 for a new oem battery or about $80 for a refill? Over a 3 year or so lifespan (I seldom have batteries crap out in 2 years), that just is not enough price difference to get me to switch. Now, if it was half the price of a new battery... -- Deeds, not words |

| from what i remember, you can buy the rebuild and if it doesn't work like you want, you can return it for full value towards a new battery. I was thinking of trying it one time but the $$$$ was always going sumwhere else. Still tho, any1 uses them, plz report back. I got a new lappy that I know will need a new one in a year and a half or so. -- Prejudice against alternate consciousness would probably make JFK laugh at you; Carl Sagan would probably say you have a blindspot.
