eastern AR, suddenlink vs centuryTel. thoughts? prices?

i am doing some research for my brother who lives in Marvel, AR. it seems his ISP options are suddenlink cable or centurytel dsl. do any of you have thoughts with either or both? how do the prices compare? what are the things to look for in researching both options (special pricing or packages, etc).

thanks in advance.

Don't know about marvel ar in particular but I would probably go with suddenlink. The speeds with their internet tends to be faster and the prices tend to be cheaper. here where I live their doing 30 dollars a month for a year for 8 meg internet. Limited expanded cable runs about 50 bucks a month dvr is 14.95 a month, each digital tier is about 5 a month. Just depends on what you want.

I live near Cabot with an 8meg connection. I bounces between 2 meg and 8 several times an hour. TV is not bad but I am looking into 3meg DSL from Centurytel

Hi express,

I'm a technician at the cabot arkansas location. Ward is one of the areas, that we cover. Have you had a technician come out to your house to make sure their isn't an issue? I'm also curious to see if you've noticed a difference in the speeds in the last couple of days? We've done some upgrading that might have helped in this regard. If you want you can Pm me your name, or your mac address and i'll take a look at your connection and see if I notice any issues with it.

I've been out of town for a while. I just ran a test on speedtest.net:

This is approximately 5 minutes later:

This is supposed to be an 8 meg connection
