CV "Control by phone" feature - somthing similar in Vonage?

Hi All,

I just saw a note in a closed topic that eluded to the fact that Vonage does NOT have the "Control by phone" type feature. Is this true?

With CV I use the "Control by Phone" most of the time to get voicemail since I'm usually not on a computer with working speakers....

I made the assumption (yeah my bad) that all the VoIP providers have pretty much similar type features and being able to get your voicemail "the old fashioned way" seems like a good feature to have.

Anybody have any idea?

Thanks,

To my knowledge, Vonage does not have 'control by phone' (where you can manipulate features like call forwarding/locate me over the phone), but they do have remote numbers you can dial to retrieve voicemail. If you primarily used control-by-phone to access voicemail, you probably won't notice any significant difference, aside from which buttons you press to log in.

Check out the Vonage web page and read their feature 'help' screens about voicemail. I'm sure they have a FAQ regarding dialing from a remote number to retrieve voicemail.

Thanks Fisamo!

I do need to read up on Vonage details. U/I, features, etc. I do have to say that I like their "Dashboard" stuff. But I also got very used to CV's stuff. I will miss CV.

But for now I'm waiting for Oct 22 which is when my CV number should be transferred to Vonage, something you guys here call "porting" it looks like.

Thanks,
