iPhone Wi-Fi Issues - HELP!!!

Hello, Hello...

So I'm a systems engineer for a large company, and I work in a ware house location. We use Intermec access points running 802.11 B with an un-broadcasted SSID. We are using WEP for security on Key 3. I know, I can't change what we are using there, it is what it is for now, however when I go to connect my iPhone, entering all the information, it keeps telling me the password isn't correct. I've read things about using hex or putting quotes around the password, etc, etc, etc. Anyone have any thoughts on this or can help?

Thanks...

Did a little Googling and found these steps:
1. Click on Settings
2. Click on WiFi
3. Below "Choose a Network..." should be a list of available networks - click on the name of the network you want to join
4. When the "Enter Password" screen comes up, in the "Security" Box you will want to click where it says "WEP Password"
5. On the next screen that opens up, click on "WEP hex or ASCII"
6. Click on "Enter Password" towards the top of the screen
7. Enter your password on the password line and then click "Join" in the bottom right corner.
Critical data point, obviously, is whether you're being given a hex or ASCII value. Do you know for sure?

I am absolutally positive I'm using all the right stuff, and yes I configure about 400 other wireless RF devices, so yeah I have all the information, for some reason though I can't get my iPhone to connect.

I just get a password box, there isn't a next screen that says anything about hex or ascii.

I wasn't doubting your tech savvy, just making sure someone wasn't giving you an ASCII value where hex is needed or vice versa. Wish I had more to offer, but that's all I could find.

Try dumping all of the network configurations and trying again. Sometimes the iPhone will try and connect using buried settings for some unknown reason:

Settings -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings -> reboot phone

Yep, have tried that many times...

I actually did some more searching for this and I'm not sure if I tried it before, but it said to convert the password to HEX and then put a $ in front of it. Something about being a MAC special charactor or something. I'm going to try this... I don't have much hope thought...

Are you sure you have access? Have you asked the network/security people in the company?

He said
I'm a systems engineer for a large company

and he can't get his iPhone on the company's Intermec (process control/telemetry) wireless network.

That's a good thing.
