[BC] Increased Upload Speed on regular High Speed

This began yesterday (Nov. 5). I'm located in the Vancouver eastside.

I'm on the regular high speed plan and I noticed the upload speed increased to nearly 1.0 Mbps. The download speed hasn't changed.

At first, I thought I was on Extreme, but the download speed results matched as of those advertised for the regular High Speed plan.

Anyone else noticed this upload speed increase?

Nope, still 1meg here, on Extreme that is. Let's hope that you're right though!

I'm from edmonton and I also observed a increase in upload speed on regular.

Was getting about 60kB/s upload before, I'm now hitting 110kB/s.

I wonder what this means for xtreme customers, will their upload increase aswell?

A boost in upload speed would be welcome, and long overdue. It would definitely one up the main competition.

Guess we will wait and see.

Could someone post a speedtest to verify the change?

I was actually curious about Xtreme-I, since I'm still seeing 1 Mbit/s upload on that.

Perhaps there is a promotion where High speed customers are getting upgraded to Extreme for a month? It's probably hard to tell if the download has changed as well with PowerBoost.

Don't test it via website speed tests. We need sustained speed testing. uTorrent should provide a good gague. You never know, this could be the useless upstream powerboost to fool us into thinking they upgraded us while they keep increasing the price.

I understand that those results do indeed include PowerBoost for the downstream, but I was showing that upstream is increased.

I've tested the speeds on several download Fedora mirrors. After noticing PowerBoost had been backing off, the speeds returned to the usual speeds between 800KB/s (6.4Mb/s) and 1.0MB/s (8.0 Mb/s). As this tells me, my internet is still under the regular High Speed plan.

I thought PowerBoost affects downstream, not upstream.

Anyways, they can't increase my balance because I'm under the student plan and I've prepaid the full amount for one year.

To thank you for being a Shaw High-Speed Internet customer we have doubled your download and upload speeds for one month, at no cost to you. With your complimentary speed increase you'll notice that downloading music, sending video messages, uploading photo galleries, and sending large files takes half the time. With Shaw High-Speed Extreme Internet's 15 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload connection speed*, you can take your online experience to the next level.

This automatic one-month complimentary upgrade has already begun. After your one-month trial is over, you will automatically be returned to Shaw High-Speed Internet and your bill will not change.

We hope you enjoy your one month complimentary upgrade to Shaw High-Speed Extreme Internet.
I received an email from Shaw today that they upped my regular to Extreme and they claim is just a complimentary offer for one month.

Oh, poo.
